Good Evening Nelsons!

Ski Trip

Nelson is going skiing at Ski Martock to facilitate complementary training. We are covering the transportation to the hill, equipment rental, ski lessons, and lunch.
Here's the details:
Date: 18 Feb 18
Time: 1000 - 1930
Drop off/pick up: HMCS Scotian
Lunch: provided
Dress: ski gear

I need you to let me know if you plan on coming. I know this is a fair bit away, but I need to confirm numbers and have some documentation signed by your parents/guardians.
Please you cannot back out two weeks prior to the trip.

TS Royalist Deployment

This year's deployment will have the cadets join the ship in Plymouth, UK and sail out of the English Channel into the Irish Sea making its way to Holyhead, UK on the North Wales coast making a number of ports of call along the way. During the deployment, cadets are involved in every part of shipboard operations (helm, lookout, husbandry, meal preperation, seamanship, navigation, safety, etc.) and sailing evolutions (hoisting, lowering, furling and unfurling sails, on deck and aloft in the rigging, etc.) in a 24/7 watch system. Cadets will also be climbing masts using harness type safety gear. Accommodation and messing is basic and based on an open mess deck plan where Cadets sleep in individual racks with sleeping bags and have extremely limited storage space.

What do you need to participate?

In order to be eligible to participate in this deployment, a cadet must meet or exceed the following prerequisites:
- has attained 16 years of age as of the 1 Apr 18 and must not reach 18 years before 20 May 18;
- have successfully completed Phase IV of the corps training program;
- hold the minimum rank of PO2;
- have completed an intermediate, advanced or specialty summer training course (6 or 8 week);
- fluent in English;
- free of any medical participation limitations; and
- not on any dietary restrictions or modifications, as they will not be accommodated.
