How do I join this FREE program?
You can visit us on our Regular training nights, every Tuesday from 6:30pm - 9:15 pm, at HMCS SCOTIAN (2111 Upper Water St. Halifax N.S.).
We are able to accept and process applications during the training year, which runs from September 1st to June 30th, although it is recommended that those interested in joining should do so before the start of June. We cannot enter or accept new applications during the summer break from July 1st through August 31st; applications sent during the summer months will be processed and answered in September.
In order to join, you must be 12-18 years old, reside in Canada, and have parental/guardian permission as well as the required documentation listed below.
Required Documentation:
In addition to completing the Application for Membership, you will be asked to provide a copy or scan of the following for our files (staff can photocopy documents in-person if needed).
ii. Canadian provincial/territorial or federal government-issued ID card,
iii. Canadian passport, or
iv. Visa or permit to reside within Canada.
You can download the Cadet Application for Membership below, or fill it out online through the Cadets.ca registration portal which will email your application to us automatically. Or we can provide a paper copy when you visit the Corps!
When submitting an application online, please allow up to one week for a response with directions on the next steps to take. Your patience is appreciated.

- A valid health insurance card (Nova Scotia MSI is preferred, but if MSI is not available, please provide whatever insurance the cadet does have);
- One (1) of the following identity documents for the cadet:

iv. Visa or permit to reside within Canada.
