Cadet Training Center - Course Application

Please take a look at the courses and their dates offered below, and then select on the form the courses you would like to apply for, and submit. The form asks you to make your top 3 choices for potential courses - please make sure you have listed them in the order of which one you most want to take

Make sure you have read the Course Information page and Joining Instructions for details on what is required to be eligible for each different course.

It is important to note that not all cadets who apply are guaranteed to be selected to attend Summer Training - only one third of all cadets in Canada are afforded this exciting opportunity. Final selections are not made by the corps staff, but by a regional overseeing office which makes selections for all CSTC's in our region. However, it is our goal at Nelson to get as many of our cadets as possible selected for their desired course, by making sure the application process is carried out smoothly and thoroughly.

Cadets are loaded on "intakes" (sessions of training) based on their geographical location - for Nova Scotia cadets these are the second (for 3 week Basic courses) and third (for 2 week General Training course) intakes, on the dates below. Six week courses only have one intake, as these courses last the entire summer training period. If you would like to apply for another intake which takes place at a different time in the summer, you may do so - just make a note as to the reason in the comment section of the form. Cadets applying for intakes other than the one for their geographical area can not be given a guarantee that they will be loaded on the requested dates.

Announcements of selections are made to cadets as soon as the corps staff is notified, and normally take place in late May.
